Life's Journey ~ Mini Album ~ Scrappin' Jubliee

I was so excited to finally get these photos from Scrappin' Jubilee.  She is my mini album creator super hero. SJ was inspired by Kathy Orta's paper bag mini for her Life's Journey mini.
Scrappin' Jubilee used K&Co's Life's Journey and Ancestry collections. She still hasn't finished all the embellishments.  I think it's perfect just the way it is!!! This is a gorgeous mini album!  ENJOY........................

The folks at Simple Stories have taken the Smash Book concept a few steps forward, creating a more mixed media album, complete with page protectors and memory pockets.  They have also combined a lot of the style elements found in Becky Higgins' Project Life... Here is a video from showing the new Simple Stories albums, papers and accessories.

My new Cameo fits right in with this style of scrapbooking/journaling. Silhouette Cameo ~ 1st Print & Cut

I finally had a few minutes this morning to try print & cut with my Cameo...... was very easy.  Here is my first attempt using a graphic which came with the free software.  I printed the graphic on a black and white laser printer.  The slight band you see on the bird is because the toner cartridge needs to be replaced..... But the cameo did a great job automatically reading the 3 registration points and then cutting......... It was all automatic and easy peasy to do!

Next task is to import a jpg and have the cameo print and cut that :-)

Cameo Silhouette ~ easy peasy ~ I had no learning curve :-)

I just received my new Cameo Silhouette!  It took longer to unpack and plug in my new Cameo then it did to make my first cut!  I had no learning curve, the software is that intuitive. I bought the Cameo because I wanted to be able to make detailed cuts.  I wanted to cut intricate borders and tiny words for my mini album tags.

Last week I downloaded the Silhouette software...... messed with it for a bit. Asked a few questions on the Silhouette message board.... spent hours looking through the online store drooling over the adult graphics.  When my Cameo arrived, I hit the ground running.......... This is faster and easier for me to use than a cartridge-based cutter I was using previously.  I am not tied to online software that is missing many of the options the FREE Silhouette software has......... like alignment and one-click shadowing.

Here are my 1st cuts........ I was not going for grand and glorious!!! I wanted to see how thin and detailed the machine could cut.......... the letters are only .25 of an inch high!!! The second word....Calico is even smaller........ the process to enter the word, ungroup, weld, and then cut took less than 5 minutes for each word.  I am very pleased with my purchase!

Following the photos are all the links you need to get started to see if the Cameo is the cutter for you :-)
