Tags & Techniques

At loss for a new type or style of tag??? How about a mat that folds out to reveal space for 2 or 3 photos and/or journaling?  Here is an example from Scrappin Jubilee's latest mini, "Jubilee Bliss":

Tags & Techniques ~ New Page on the Menu Bar at MAC

Since tags are so fundamental to mini albums, we have added a Tags & Techniques page to the menu bar.  We plan to make this a gallery of different and unique tag styles.  It has become just too easy to run cardstock through the Big Shot and cut the same tags over and over again.  I hope this Tag Gallery serves as a library of different styles of tags to nudge me out of doing the same old tags over and over. Enjoy and visit the new Tag Library/Gallery here:

Mini Album Cookbook: Tags & Techniques

To start off our new Tags & Techniques Gallery, here is a darling mini album of tags Scrappin Jubilee made within her 1st mini album.

One Day Mini Album ~ Flower Power from DCVW

I bought this DCVW stack over a year ago. I didn't like Flower Power when I bought it; and, I still don't care for it. So to make a short story long, I decided to challenge myself to see if I could make a mini album from start to finish in one day. Which explains why I chose some paper I wasn't really in love with. If it didn't work, I could throw the whole project in the trash with no regrets. Usually, my mini albums take me several weeks, so this wasn't going to be an easy challenge for me. I used the Big Shot Pro to cut the pages and cardstock, which considerably sped up the process of making a album. I left out the the paper bags, envelopes, flaps, and flips I love to include in album making. Visit Gallery One for a list of specific materials and dies used. Here are the results. Not too bad for an afternoon, but I think I will stick with G45 and Webster's papers :-)  Enjoy!!!

Zutter Rivets and Setting Tools ~ Revisited

Back in March, we featured this Zutter Video on MAC:

Since I am real gadget person and Zutter was running a great special on their rivets and closures and the high-quality Zutter rivet tools, I ordered the whole kit & caboodle.  I posted a few days ago the Domestic Goddess Recipe Album I just finished.  I really wanted to hang the tags and charms on the outside of the album; but the chipboard cover is very thick and very dense.  Add to that layers of cardstock....... I didnt have anything that would make the holes cleanly.  I thought about an electric drill but i was afraid it would tear and rip the hole edges.  So this morning I decided to give my Zutter Rivet Tools a try. Great tools.......... punched through almost a .25 of inch of chipboard and cardstock, 2 holes - clean on both sides.  I took the photos before I added the rivets so that you can see how cleanly the holes were cut.  Thank you, Zutter, for another awesome product ;-)
