Create Word Art on

In a matter of minutes, I was able to generate this word art at Wordle...... Wordle is a free website that allows you to generate "word clouds" and print them or save them in a public gallery.  It's fun and easy to do; and allows for customization.

I can see so many ways to use Wordle to create custom tags for my mini albums....... Enjoy and have fun creating :-)

Indecision ~ Cameo or Zing???

For the last week I have been reading every post I can find about the new cutters from Silhouette and Knk...... the Cameo and Zing.  Neither cutter has debuted with smooth sailing IMHO, although once the user gets all the right stars in alignment the cuts both the Cameo and the Zing are getting are just amazing.....

There is an obvious price difference, as well as, a difference in specifications. If it wasn't for space constraints, I would buy them both....... So instead of deciding, I have decided to not decide :-)

Michele at Paperthreads has done an awesome job comparing machines:  Unfortunately, it doesn't have the Cameo specifications entered yet.

My dilemma is that I want to be able to cut it all........ with ease :-)  I want beautiful print and cuts; and, I want to be able to cut fun foam and chipboard. I want to be able to cut tiny detailed designs. I want it all in one machine :-)

Vintage... One of a Kind Contest ~ Tag

My Scrappy Friends over at Vintage... 1 of a Kind sponsored a contest at my LSS to kick off their line of amazing vintage embellishment kits.  Each kit is truly one of a kind, and created by hand by the folks at V1.

Here is my entry.  I haven't done altered art previously, so this was a real challenge for me.  I wanted my creation to tell a story.... I used Graphic 45 Baby to Bride paper and created a mythical Baby to Bride Shoppe in downtown San Francisco, circa 1906.  I wanted my tag to look at though it was made from long forgotten "junk' drawer stuff.  I also included a vintage calendar..... they were so popular for every shoppe to give away back in the day.  I got the vintage calendar from the Crafty Secrets.

Here is my picture story of my first altered art creation....... moving from the Vintage... 1 of a Kind Kit I chose, through my initial planning and then the finished product.  Enjoy :-)

New Baby Mini Album

There are two things that every new mother is short on......... sleep and time for herself!  A scrappy friend of mine will be having a baby in December....... what to give a scrapper who probably won't have time to scrap for awhile?  A mini album....... one page each month for a special picture, and a tag for journaling...

This mini was created with DCWV Baby Boy cardstock and Martha Stewart embellies.....

SkyCandy ~ Crochet Handwork

Ever wish you had a hobby that didn't require as much of a space and financial investment that paper crafting does? A hobby you could just throw in a sack and be ready to go? A hobby that doesn't require sorting through so many supplies to find just the right color or hue? Or a second hobby that was easy to carry around in your purse?

SkyCandy has been crocheting doilies for a years (along with paper crafting).  Here are two of her beautiful creations. Her doilies are so delicate.... made from #20 Cebelia thread with a pattern from Magic Crochet magazine.  These are just gorgeous, SC :-)  Thanks so much for sharing your "other" hobby :-)
