Autumn Printer's Tray

This was so much fun to make! I collected doodads from local craft stores, Joann and Michael's, and arranged them in the tray.  It was a fun afternoon project.  It did take some serious time to measure and cut the cardstock for each compartment; but, the rest was easy as pie.  I just went through my doodad stash and arranged and rearranged until I was happy with the look. This would be a great project to do with a child :-) This tray is loaded with autumn buttons; and, other items you can pick up in the seasonal aisles at both Mike's and Joann's.

Beginnings of a Mini Album #2 ~ Inspired by Tim Holtz's Vintage Valise & Annette Green

Instead of working on tags and what not for Vintage Valise mini album #1, I decided today to create the beginnings of Vintage Valise mini album #2. There is something very relaxing and satisfying about creating these small binders from scratch. I dyed the leather for the valise with Terra Cotta Antiquing Solution by Tsukineko.  The completed albums will be shared soon :-)

Beginnings of a Mini Album ~ Inspired by Tim Holtz's Vintage Valise & Annette Green

I bought the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vintage Valise die awhile back and decided it was time to create something with it.  I was inspired when I visited Annette Green's blog yesterday:

Annette's Creative Journey: Vintage Valise part 1
Annette's Creative Journey: Vintage Valise part 2

I went to my LSS, where my friend and shop owner, Beverly gave me a great piece of leather and more inspiration.  The leather was really stiff, so off to Google to find out how to soften it.  I found a method using rubbing alcohol and hair conditioner that did the trick; and, the leather was soft enough to work with this morning..........

So, here is what I have created so far......... the beginnings of a new mini album, using Renaissance Faire by Graphic 45.  In few days, time permitting, I hope to have the mini finished; and, I will post the finished product :-)

Smash Binders ~ Junque Book ~ Stamp Catalogue

I wanted a catalogue for my quickly growing collection of Tim Holtz Rubber Stamps.  I also wanted a place to store examples of tags so I wouldn't forget my ideas and the inspirations I find on the Net.  It had to be expandable; and, I had to be able to rearrange the pages.  It had to hold lots of Neenah Cardstock for stamp imprints.  This Basic Grey Line called "Basics" seemed the perfect paper for such a smash binder (Thanks, SkyCandy)........... I found these two binders at Office Max.  I loved the matching teal storage pouch and the elastic belly band.  I made the dividers from chipboard and cut the tabs with the Tim Holtz "On the Edge" dies.  The binder needed a splash of color, so I incorporated Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock and Basic Grey's Pyrus line.  I found matching paperclips and clamps at Office Max.  The binders are filled with pockets and slots, and lots of Neenah cardstock to stamp on......graph paper for making notes on. These binders will never be finished....... They will always be a work in progress as my collection of Tim Holtz Stamps grows; and, as I am inspired by the beautiful tags I see on the Internet. Enjoy and thank you for visiting :-)

Tags Revisited ~ Idea 3

I made this tag mini album to go into the Smash Book I have just completed. It was fun engineering it. I love how it turned out. It was created out of  5 coin envelopes I picked up at Staples.

Coin Envelopes from Staples I used

I have some very lightweight printed paper that I bought because it was on sale a few years ago. It's a K & Co "Best of" stack. It is just too lightweight to use for my mini albums. I was ready to toss the stack until I found this Quickutz die...... It will cut darling coin envelopes for this tag technique:
So here is our newest mini album tag technique..... It would be simple to add an eyelet and circle closure and bakers twine to keep it closed.  Enjoy :-)

Here is a tutorial for making the closure written by Sherri Thompson on her Bits and Pieces of Me Blog:

Happy Birthday, Dear Friend

It's the special people you meet in life who make you smile every day.  In paper crafting stamps, ink, paper, and gadgets have given me a chance to meet people I never had a chance to meet in my professional life. Paper crafting reaches across miles, rivers, boundaries, and oceans.

Today a special friend is celebrating her birthday....... we share a love of paper, stacks, ink, stamps, Tim Holtz.  I want to wish her a wonderful and happy day.  If she was here, our little group would begin the day with a special gourmet coffee; and, then a tour of local scrap stores........ adding more to our already huge stashes, of course :-)  Lunch at the Sunflower for their "out of this world" nut burger.  Then more paper shopping........... The day would end with a BBQ and a long night of sharing and creating with the goodies we had bought during the day, a little vino and conversation into the wee hours.

Have a a wonderfully special day, dear friend..........

CHA Summer 2011 Previews & Peeks

I love CHA Previews.  They give me an opportunity to mentally map out what I really want to purchase for papercrafting for the new few months.

Here are several previews for y'all to go and take a peek at........

My favorite so far is the new G45 ABC Primer Line..... I want it all.  It's no secret that I am a real fan of Graphic 45; and, this paper screams "make a mini" to me:

Next stop on our list of CHA Summer 2011 Sneak Peeks is Tim Holtz.   I haven't seen any must-haves from TH yet, but as soon as he starts to demo and create with his new products, I am sure I am going to NEED a few things:

Creators of the awesome Nestabilities has created a new line of  border wafer dies.  Nothing here yells "Buy Me" to me yet. Last CHA I wanted everything Spellbinders introduced. Spellbinders is hosting a blog hop to introduce they new dies:

I love the new lines by Webster's Pages. I always NEED Webster's Pages:
